What data does Ganakly collect?
Very little. We don’t ask for your name, phone number or email to use any tool. The only data we receive comes from:
- Standard server logs: IP address, browser type, page requested and time. Our hosting provider keeps these briefly for security and to keep the site running.
- Advertising and analytics cookies: set by Google, described below.
- Messages you send us: only if you choose to contact us.
What happens to the values I type into a calculator?
Every calculation runs in JavaScript on your own device. Your salary, date of birth, loan amount, health details or the photo you resize are not uploaded to Ganakly, and we can’t see them.
Which cookies and storage does Ganakly use?
| Name | Set by | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
ganakly-theme (local storage) | Ganakly | Remembers light or dark mode. Stays on your device. |
| Advertising cookies | Google and its partners | Show and measure ads, limit repeats and prevent fraud. |
Analytics cookies (_ga) | Google Analytics | Count visits and see which tools are used, in aggregate. |
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Every calculator still works without them.
How does advertising on Ganakly work?
Ganakly is free because it shows ads through Google AdSense.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.
- Google’s advertising cookies let it and its partners show you ads based on your visits to Ganakly and other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors at aboutads.info.
- Read how Google uses cookies in advertising.
For visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, analytics and advertising run without cookies and ads are not personalised. Elsewhere, a short notice tells you we use cookies, and you can block them in your browser at any time. Partner offers on Ganakly are labelled “Sponsored”. Advertisers never see your calculator inputs and never change a result.
Does Ganakly use analytics?
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. It sets no cookies, doesn’t track you across websites and doesn’t collect personal data such as your IP address.
We may also use Google Analytics to understand which tools are popular and where pages load slowly. It reports trends across all visitors, not who you are. You can install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on to stop being counted.
What happens when I contact you?
If you email us or use the contact form, we use your name, email and message only to reply. We don’t add you to a mailing list or share your details. We delete messages once they’re no longer needed.
What rights do I have over my data?
Depending on where you live, laws such as India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, the EU and UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act give you the right to:
- ask what personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- withdraw consent to personalised ads at any time;
- complain to your local data protection authority.
Ganakly does not sell personal information. To make a request, email [email protected].
Is Ganakly meant for children?
Ganakly is a general-audience site and isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from children. Exam and student tools are safe to use because inputs never leave the device.
How is data kept secure, and for how long?
The whole site is served over HTTPS. Server logs are kept only as long as our host needs them for security. Google keeps advertising and analytics data under its own retention policies.
Will this policy change?
We update this page when we add a feature or a law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
